A system approach is utilized at HELPS while assessing and developing a treatment plan for each child. This approach allows the agency to view the child as an individual yet, see the child encompassed in the systems that influence past and present behaviors. Systems viewed for their impact on the child include the family of origin, school, social contacts, health issues and community influences.
Our foster parents and agency staff work as a team to provide a healthy, loving, and safe environment for children in need of out of home placement. An individual plan is developed for each child, which focuses on his/her emotional, developmental, educational and therapeutic needs.
As valued partners, foster parents provide the daily basics: food, clothing, shelter and the love, stability, guidance and discipline that all children need.
